Beijing, China, August 18, 2020 – Dialog semiconductor AG (DEX: DLG ), a leading supplier of battery management, AC/DC power conversion, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), industrial ICs announced today that it will further expand its collaboration with Renesas Electronics, a leading supplier of advanced semiconductor solutions, to provide power management IC (PMIC) solutions for the Renesas R-Car M3 and R-Car E3 automotive computing platforms.
Building on the partnership with Renesas R-Car Gen 2 and R-Car H3 platforms, Dialog’s power solutions for R-Car M3 and R-Car E3 platforms include DA9063-A system main PMIC and DA9224-A sub PMICs. Each device is precisely configured to meet specific power rail requirements, including voltage levels, peak currents, and power sequencing, providing a “perfect match” power solution.
Dialog’s highly integrated PMIC devices are highly efficient, resulting in the smallest form factor and low BOM cost, while reducing thermal design complexity, a key factor in the harsh temperature environment of automotive systems.
Tom Sandoval, senior vice president of the Automotive Business Unit at Dialog Semiconductor, said: “The expanded collaboration between Dialog and Renesas will enable Renesas as a Tier 1 supplier to the automotive industry to provide more differentiated, reliable, and reliable products based on the industry-leading R-Car platform. High-performance and cost-effective Electronic systems. As the processing power requirements and platform-specific needs of automotive systems further increase, our partnership with Renesas will bring significant advantages to customers.”
The unique technology of distributing system-level power to the highly configurable system main PMIC and sub-PMIC makes Dialog’s power management solutions scalable and flexible. Using the same PMIC device, a wide range of SoC system power specifications can be easily met, helping design engineers optimize their power requirements throughout the design process to deliver the most energy-efficient, high-performance products for specific end applications.
“Automotive electronics design engineers can easily power configure and change the timing of Dialog’s flexible and scalable power solutions to meet their SoC system needs. Our collaboration with Renesas enables an SoC solution with the industry’s best power efficiency ,” Sandoval added.
The DA9063-A system main PMIC and DA9224-A sub-PMIC offer significant scalability and flexibility advantages while distributing heat dissipation in high temperature environments. A built-in configurable engine helps system designers easily address power sequencing, thermal and system control challenges. An intuitive GUI (Smart Canvas) simplifies the customization process for a “perfect match” power management solution. Such highly optimized, cost-effective power management solutions enable the most competitive and differentiated system designs.
These system main PMIC and sub-PMIC devices are fully AEC-Q100 Level 2 qualified.
